Domestic Home With Sprinkler Protection

News Posted 6th October 2009

Project Fire Engineers have became the first company to install a sprinkler system in a domestic home in the district. Project Fire were approached by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue to carry out the works at Elm Road in Norton Canes for Roger Stevens who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis who only has use of his left arm.

Roger said ‘I feel much safer with the sprinkler system in my home. The heads are so small the neighbours don't even notice them, I think is a great idea and could not only save property but lives too.' He added ‘I do sleep at lot easier at night now knowing that I have the best protection possible. I am very grateful to have them.'

Phil Smyth the services central Risk Reduction Officer said ‘There are many people at risk and we are miles behind places like America, It costs on average two percent of the building costs of a house to install the system.' He added ‘What price can you put on life?'
