Bellcheck FAQs

1. How is Bellcheck Installed?
Bellcheck simplifies the installation of a valve-station. All models can be connected to the sprinkler system using mechanical couplings (to suit the pipe diameter). SA models can be connected to the mains water supply by means of a PN16 Flange connection (to suit pipe diameter). SV and DV models can be connected to the mains water supply using mechanical couplings (to suit pipe diameter). Two common drain connection points are provided on each model via Ø50 mm female screwed connections. Please see Bellcheck instruction booklet and relevant technical drawings for guidance.

2. What are the General Dimensions?
SA models are provided in a protective steel pod 680(w) x 600(d) x 2000(h) mm. SV & DV models are provided in a protective steel pod 1118(w) x 630(d) x 1910(h) mm. See technical drawings for connection point details (available for download here)

3. How do I connect the Power Supply?
The Bellcheck is supplied with a commissioning lead which provides a connection from the Bellcheck fitted 3 amp Spur box, to a suitable (UK 3 pin) 230v -50 Hz mains outlet. With this in place, the engineer can now test and commission the Bellcheck (in accordance with the Bellcheck instruction manual). When commissioning is complete, the temporary commissioning lead can be removed and the unit isolated.

To permanently connect a power supply, a 230v -50 Hz, 3 Amp supply must be routed and connected to the
Bellcheck spur box, thus replacing the factory-supplied temporary commissioning lead.

4. Is there any additional wiring?
Bellcheck is supplied as a factory built, fully wired and tested unit as standard. Site wiring and integration should be carried out and tested by an electrical contractor and a completion certificate raised.

5. How often must I perform the alarm gong test?
Once per week. As part of the weekly routine, LPC rules state that each water motor alarm shall be sounded for no less than 30 s. (BS EN12845 20.2.2.3 Water motor alarm test).

6. How do I perform the water motor alarm test?
The full procedure can be found in the instruction booklet. In short, alert the appropriate personnel, insert the key into the keyswitch and turn down to the ON position for a minimum of one minute. After the water motor gong has sounded for 30 seconds, turn the key up to the OFF position and remove the key.

7. Where should I locate the water motor alarm gong?
Bellcheck is provided with a fully integrated, ready-installed water motor alarm gong which is securely connected to the steel pod. However, the buildings layout may dictate that the alarm gong must be located remotely (please refer to BS EN 12845 clause 16.1).

8. Does Bellcheck carry a warranty?
Bellcheck is factory tested at works and carries a 3-year warranty.

9. Where has Bellcheck been installed?
Bellcheck has been installed in the UK market over the last decade across a wide range of market sectors such as warehouse, retail, commercial, and industrial properties.
